Inside the Statue of Liberty

Statue of LibertyIt’s a long climb up a winding staircase, but under that crown is a row of windows, looking out on the harbor at Manhattan. Overhead are a series of wavy lines, the underside of Liberty’s hair. And providing the illumination?

A series of yellow plastic work lights, plugged into extension cords. 

Click on the link above to see what it’s like up there. But don’t be surprised if your peek inside America’s ultimate icon ends up feeling just a bit like seeing Santa without his beard.
